Part of a pair of shamanic paintings, from a set of four in our collection, from a series of a much larger original series from a high-level Taoist shaman of the Dao Đỏ (Red Dao) people. This painting is titled “A Boat on the Long Ocean Voyage” (or “Pan Hu’s Five Banners of Knights”); painted in a wide colour palette of natural pigments, applied to hand-made mulberry-bark paper.
