Part of a pair of shamanic paintings, from a set of four in our collection, from a series of a much larger original series from a high-level Taoist shaman of the Dao Đỏ (Red Dao) people. This painting is titled “The Gods of the Fast” (or "of the Kitchen"); painted in a wide colour palette of natural pigments, applied to hand-made mulberry-bark paper.
